Flat Feet!

I was browsing some online yarn stores looking for Australian distributors of solid sock yarn for Knitter Sue, when I came upon a yarn called Flat Feet. "What a great name for a sock yarn," I thought. The yarn was handpainted and wasn't what I was looking for so I was about to move on when this caught my eye:
Experience this new concept in sock knitting. Knit directly from the flat, no balls, no skeins, no tangles!
"Knit from the flat with no tangles?" thinks I. "How is that possible?"

Go here for the full story! Delighted Hands, they've used your idea! [or did you borrow it from somewhere? LOL]

  1. Yes, I saw it a few years ago in a SpinOff magazine and more recently at KnitPicks.com--I do it myself cuz it is cheaper...er, more economical! It opens a whole new level of knitting (dyeing and knitting)so try it!

  2. It's a nifty idea huh? I got to see one up close a few weeks ago and thought it was something I'd want to try soon. I knew Knit Picks were doing it but didn't nkow anyone else was.

  3. There was a lot of talk about doing this at home on one of the Yahoo sock groups, Jeanie Townsend's I think. Those in the States were using Knitpicks undyed wool, knitting, dyeing and knitting again.
