Knitter Sue, when I came upon a yarn called
Flat Feet. "What a great name for a sock yarn," I thought. The yarn was handpainted and wasn't what I was looking for so I was about to move on when this caught my eye:

Yes, I saw it a few years ago in a SpinOff magazine and more recently at KnitPicks.com--I do it myself cuz it is cheaper...er, more economical! It opens a whole new level of knitting (dyeing and knitting)so try it!
ReplyDeleteIt's a nifty idea huh? I got to see one up close a few weeks ago and thought it was something I'd want to try soon. I knew Knit Picks were doing it but didn't nkow anyone else was.
ReplyDeleteThere was a lot of talk about doing this at home on one of the Yahoo sock groups, Jeanie Townsend's I think. Those in the States were using Knitpicks undyed wool, knitting, dyeing and knitting again.

ReplyDeleteLove the socks - I did waving lace in a yarn that lost the lace too - but I know its there!!!!
