Does God heal today?

I know that I am being controversial. My non-Christian readers have already left. Some of my Christian readers are flipping out and/or gathering their refuting arguments.

But my Bible says that Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

That means He is just as willing to and capable of healing today as he was when He walked the earth in person.

As you know, I was diagnosed with shingles six weeks ago. For the past ten days, I have been completely off all forms of pain-killers; yes, even the “mild” ones like ibuprofen and paracetamol. I am completely healed of shingles!

Yes, it’s possible that I had a mild case and it was going to clear up quickly. But – I was in pain on Saturday and after prayer at church on Sunday morning, was completely free of pain.

I choose to believe that my God (who is also my Father and my Friend) healed me.

And if you don’t think healing a middle-aged woman of shingles is very dramatic, listen to the testimony of this young woman who attended the Healing Rooms in California. There is no doubt in her mind, or in mine, that God healed her!

Praise the Lord!

  1. I'm still here. And yes, miracle healing does happen today, and I am a great believer in prayer at all times.
As for the shingles.....the surface eruption can clear before the nerves are fully restored. The nerves are layers deep in the skin and can take months to repair themselves. That is why you may still have intense pain and prayer may be the only way to relieve it. Our earthly bodies are wondrously designed and only God know where to place the healing hands.

  2. He is definitely our Great Physician. The controversy arises when He heals some and not others and it causes a crisis of faith for them. He is also sovereign and it is above our understanding. I am SO glad you are feeling better!

  3. Yes He certainly does wondrous things. I read a blog called
Maas Journal and the husband of the writer was not expected to live past Christmas this year. She has just written today, that the latest scans show he is cancer free! his wife firmly believes that it is God's work and so do I. Glad you are feeling so much better xx

  5. Hi, Lynne: I firmly believe that we have a right to blog about whatever we want, and shouldn't have to worry about offending others. I appreciate others point of views. Please continue to write from your heart and don't change a bit! I am happy for you that you are feeling much better, and that God listened and answered your prayers.

  8. Just write about what you want. We all believe in things but the beliefs may be different. It is in allowing and encouraging other people to have different ideas to ourselves that shows the true strength of our own belief. I'm very pleased you are better and able to get on with enjoying your life and making a difference.
