She did it!

After having her L's for years, DD [aged 22] got her red P's this morning! Two bouts of glandular fever and the ensuing tiredness, not to mention working and full time study [not at the same time] slowed her progress, but she's finally done it!

Now our time of worry has arrived!! LOL

edited [Saturday 12.37pm]: Sorry all those readers from o/s. L's = Learner's plates; P's = provisional driving licence; in NSW young people can get their Learner's licence at 16 and have to complete 120 hours of practice before they can take their practical driving test [minimum age: 17]. They are on red P's for 12 months, then take a simulated driving test to gain green P's which they have for another two years. They then take another simulated driving test to get a 'full' licence.

The worry comes because now she can drive alone and we will worry till she comes home safely. It's a combination of her inexperience in hazardous situations and the over-confidence of other inexperienced drivers on the road!

  1. Congrats to her, although I have no idea what L's and P's are!

  2. I am afraid I don't know whether to say congrats or I'm sorry.....why are you worried...? Either my meds are making me dumb or we have a cultural gap, help us out Lynne!

  3. Congratulations to your daughter. You know I didn't get my P's until I was 21, I just wasn't ready before then. So good on her (even though out of her hands) for waiting until now.
