Quilting Misadventures in Knitterland
Project 1 - Chapter 3: And the border is on

This went more smoothly than the piecing!

But we did find that it's not square! Each side is a different length. It looks worse in the photo because I was not standing square to the clothesline!

This was completed on 29th March. The batting is washed but still we have found no time (or courage) to make a sandwich!

  1. All part of the learning experience, Lynne. Remember the shawl drama? I learnt from that too to be careful when doing knit 2 together in fine wool. Make sure all stitches are caught.

I'm sure it won't worry little Benjamin. It will be bright and comfortable for him and you have made it with love.

  2. Hmmm, I just reread that and hope you don't think I'm being patronising. That was far from my mind.

  4. It is very lovely! I've just begun quilting. It's a learning experience for sure. Of course I never read any instructions or anything so I'm sure I make it harder than it needs to be.

  7. Your quilt is looking lovely and small people are very forgiving of small things like equal length sides. I have never washed my batting prior to using it, that's a new one to me. Take a deep breath and just make that sandwich, worst comes to worst you can always unpick it!

  8. Ahhhh, well it might not be square, but the colours are exquisite. I don't wash my batting before quilting either.
