life has taken a new path

As of Monday, I became the full-time carer for my aging mother who has dementia, at least until a bed in an aged care facility can be found -- this could take months.

Please excuse me if I'm not around blogland much.

For those who are Christians, your prayers would be appreciated. Thank you.

  4. Prayers from me too, Lynne . I know something about it as Dad was many years like that and then another ten in Queen Vic. nursing home at Wentworth Falls on Tablelands Road. This was recommended by social workers at large hospital where one son was working. Look carefully when you inspect. Queen Vic was old and dilapidated, but the care was first class plus. Patients were treated with commission and dignity. Ask at Council for help like respite outings, help in house for you, district nurse if needed, and more. Look after yourself and eat proper meals.

All this sounds mundane but is very necesary. Prayers again.

  5. I really don't like autocorrect and have now turned it off. That should be that patients were treated with dignity and compassion.

  9. thoughts and prayers are with you. being a caretaker is not an easy task both physically and mentally. if you need to vent, email me. I am a good listener. and take care of yourself. we often forget to do that.
