On my machine the fabric goes up from under and then rolls counterclockwise. There is also an additional poll that it tucks under to hold the fabric down and flat. Yours looks like it angles up which would make it hard to keep the tension even. Keep at it, I'm sure it will get easier.scraphappyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01472985095648633397noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6590689044094137272.post-39741488303023634742011-11-08T11:13:26.442+11:002011-11-08T11:13:26.442+11:00Sounds like some progress at any rate. (I see you are talking about an adapter which is different than my set up-you are right-frustrating-hit up ebay again for another one)Delighted Handshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01289187765260532813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6590689044094137272.post-26632864558678906292011-11-06T22:42:39.539+11:002011-11-06T22:42:39.539+11:00You're on the right track - keep your optimism...You're on the right track - keep your optimism and spirit and give it another try when you're feeling better.Cindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08702598565262409462noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6590689044094137272.post-91436495203203602202011-11-06T16:50:55.716+11:002011-11-06T16:50:55.716+11:00Wow! If the slit if off of center it stresses out the thread. Having the machine's tension too tight can do it too.

I don't think that batting is necessary. It will change the way your stitches look, but not everyone likes it. I had a customer who insisted on putting flannel in her quilts instead of batting.

How do the prices for polar fleece compair to those for batting? I know that it wouldn't crinkle the way cotton batt does when it is washed, but it would provide the same sort of loft for your quilting practice.Cindy Sharphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04694393041670847676noreply@blogger.com
